When you're a teacher you have regular old days, amazing days, and DAYS (said in a deep highly emphasized tone)!!! (That's what I call those ones that make me wanna scream...)

Today was a DAY. But one of my students, Z, brought me this adorable bracelet. I LOVE it! It made my whole day....

Day 317

Tuesday, September 20th

Wanted to "pretty-up" the house. Bought some lavender flowers with some spriggy orange ones, separate you wouldn't think they'd go together, threw them together and....joila! New centerpiece!

Losing a little bit of L-Bs has made my pants drag on the ground a little more. The draggy pants get "slightly" dirty and rub all over my feetsies. My classroom floor and our playground must be hideously dirty. I cannot believe it was this bad.

Day 315

Sunday, September 18th

Last day in CO. So sad. We got a late start, so, instead of eating an awesome breakfast as planned, we headed to the game! Today was all about exploring Coors Field. While nothing can beat AT&T's views and atmosphere, I was DIGGING on Coors Field. It has 3 restaurants, one of which we chilled in for 2 innings, a spot to see straight down into the bullpen (WILSON!), and the Rockpile (where our tickets were-waaaaay up in Heaven). Plus, seats were empty so we upgraded for 3 innings, then headed up to the 3rd deck to take our pic at the "Mile High line". I love the baseball+sister+boyfriend+awesome stadium+beer combo we had going on. Just wish I could've added brother, mom, Leo, and dad. The last pic is the sun setting from the airport-sigh.

Day 314

Saturday, September 17th

Work first, then play! Steph taught dance, I turned in benchmark data, and Joseph slept. But then, we were out and about again! We went to this little village, and went on the Alping Slide. You take a ski lift up and then slide down on a plastic sled! Awesome!

We continued with our outdoor adventures with a trip to Lookout Mountain and checked out Buffalo Bill's grave site-beautiful views! We got our 1st taste of Colorado's skitzophrenic weather...it started dumping rain and we saw thunder and lightning storms!

After a quick hike on Dinosaur Ridge-with NO dinosaur bones, (turns out we hiked Hogback-wrong ridge), we headed to the Disneyland of liquor stores-TIPSY's LIQUOR WORLD!!! We got to buy our beer and do some wine/beer/liquor tasting while we were at it!

Dinner and the game at LODO's, a beer and some pinball with Chris at Buffalo Boyd's, and finally ended the night at FuNuGuyz-(fuh-new-geez to locals, Fun-you-guys to me)!!! Skeeball, punching bag, shuffleboard, and some dancing...then we were spent! Great 2nd day!

Day 313

Friday, September 16th

Where to begin???? How about with sleeping through the alarm at 3:30 in the morning and missing our ride to the airport??? How 'bout waking up, calling the taxi-dude, showering, zipping up my suitcase that wasn't fully packed, throwing carry-on stuff in a backpack, getting to the airport and waiting in the loooongest security lines EVER, and being the 2nd to last peeps on the plane???

Anyway, we got to Colorado and it was so great to see Steph! Oh how I have missed my little sister!!! We stopped in at her house to see all the welcome signs---after almost dying from the altitude and three flights of stairs with suitcases---then we were off!

Thursday, September 15th

YES! I baked 4 dozen muffins...3 for a parent appreciation breakfast, and 1 for our staff breakfast (which I couldn't attend). The three flavor choices were blueberry, lemon poppyseed, and cinammon streusel. I worked super hard, and enjoyed every minute of it!

Wednesday, September 14th

Old West Cinammon Rooooollllls! Every time we visit SLO, for as long as I can remember, we'd head to Pismo for Old West Cinammon Rolls. It was teeny tiny back then, but in the twenty-something years my family has been going, they've expanded. They are truly a family tradition... good enough that my dad will take the 101 home from L.A./San Diego JUST TO GET A CINAMMON ROLL! I sure am glad he did this time-he shipped him mon, and all of us kids cinammon roll! YUM!

J is a fantastic BBQer! Tonight, it was chicken skewers. Hooked up the rice from a local Chinese food restaurant....So good! So good! So good!

Monday 9/12/2011

YES! I actually did it-dissected a pig's heart...or, at least I helped! My students did most of the dissecting! For a girl who doesn't even touch raw chicken-this was a BIG deal!!!

Sunday 9/11/11

I have a lot of good "Sept. 11th-ish" photos....but today was truly spent with good friends in downtown Chico...so that's what I want to capture! We had brunch at 33, then headed to the streets for Taste of Chico! I love it! We only tasted like, 3 things and ended up, where else? LaSalles. Still had a ton of fun though!!! The day escalated to piggy-back rides, a trip to The Bear for food, and Tres Hombres for one last beverage! So fun!

Saturday 9/10/11

For Joseph's actual B-day, he had to DJ a wedding in Oroville. I couldn't leave the guy alone on his b-day!!! It's actually really fun to go and watch people have a blast! I also get to perfect my skills in unpacking and packing DJ equipment! The sunset was really cool over the lake-I really like the clouds...

Day 306

Friday 9/9/11a

Joseph had to DJ 33 tonight, which was cool. I hadn't been to Chico in a long time and I was looking forward to it. Joseph's b-day was also the next day, so that was a win-win! I spent the night with our friend, Tor, and we had a blast! The night ended with a quick trip to LaSalles and then back to B-Wood's for some chill time. The awesome part of that was, along with the friend time, we were served an 8-course meal throughout the night: chicken salad on crackers, deep fried curly fries, black beans and pesto basmati rice, sourdough pepperjack grilled cheese, and more! I snapped this shot as J and Brandon were walking toward LaSalles. I love that they're totally cool with their bromance!

I love being crafty-especially when it's for something soooo exciting! Sarah's having her 1st baby, and I had the honor of making the shower invites! She decorated the room green and brown, which is weird, because we planned to do green and brown for the shower before we'd found that out! We are all really excited for the 1st baby addition to the crew! YAYAYAYAY!

As I cleaned out my car/trunk...I discovered this beautifulome, pink and gold box in my trunk. Ever since my grandma died, every time I go home with bags of stuff. In the midst of the "stuff" I had forgotten that my mom got me 2 Madonna Inn glasses!!! RED & BLUE! What a great surprise!

Day at the beach! So wonderful! Right in the middle of the relaxing day a little girl runs up to me-in the middle of 6 other girls-hands me a shell, and runs away. She ended up being my homie for the rest of the day at the beach, brought me like, 11 more shells. We were out swimming together and she told me I was a mermaid named Ariel. Ahhhh....it wasn't me that she was so impressed with-it was the red hair!!!

(HOLY MOLY DAY 300!!!)

Quick Tahoe trip for Carra's 30th! After dinner and cupcakes, we went out to the casinos and ended up, where else? At Arty The One Man Party!!! It was really fun and I am so glad that I made it up there to CELEBRATE!
