EASTER! 4/24/2011
Not only was it Easter, but it was also my dad's birthday. I know, what kind of daughter am I??? I went to the Giants game. Dad said it was okay! Not only was it a good game, I got to spend the day with my Life Partner and BFF, Jen! I found the CHEAPEST thing in the park....1 dollar for 3 Easter colored bracelets.

after dying eggs with Amber and Sean-I of course had to make these guys the pic of the day. Dying eggs was one of my Grandmother and my favorite things to do, so this year it was somewhat bittersweet. I had fun doing them anyway, and after Amber and Sean took off, I died 18 more on my own! Woohoo Easter!

I drive through our neighborhood a lot. The other day i noticed a HUGE Mexican flag-I couldn't figure out if I'd just missed it and was completely oblivious, or if it had just been put up. I came to the conclusion that I COULDN'T have missed it. Joseph and I were driving around today, and he thought the same thing so we went to check it out. Lo and behold, the Mexican consulate has been plopped right into good old Natomas!

Easter table time! This year's table got an extra pick-me-up from some Pier 1 goodies and Grandma's baskets! (Well, one was mine...) I love it-all the colors brighten the house and make me happy every time I look over at the table!

As I sat watching the Giants game thi Sunday, I started eating seeds. No big deal. Except how lazy am I that I just piled 'em high right there on the table? I even had a cup right there! But, hey! It'd been a rough day so I'm giving myself a pass!

Woke up excited...drove half way to Tahoe...got lost....stepped in a fresh cowpie...
Overall I am glad that we did this trip. It's beautiful space and everything was so fresh and springy! MOST of the kids did a great job and learned a lot!

Today was a big day...last Kings game as far as we know...Giants/Dodgers game on...so we celebrated by getting together with good friends and watching the games (even though I went to bed before either were over cause I was rolling on 4 hours sleep from the night before). B. Wood cooked us up 2 perfect tri-tips, garlic bread, and corn...we threw in a salad and this sangria. This was my second attempt at sangria-and I'm beginning to feel like I am a pro! I loved it!
(p.s.-from listening to the cheers from my living room, Joseph's recap, and knbr/khtk this morning I know that the Kings put up a valiant effort and lost to th Lakers(barf!) in overtime...and the Giants beat L.A. (double barf!) in a tight game! GREAT NIGHT EVEN WHEN I WAS SLEEPING!)

It's been challenging on nights I stay in to figure out what to photograph. I started a little habit of buying a magnet when we go places. I waiver back and forth between thinking it's tacky and cool...but then I remember all the awesome memories and go with thinking it's cool!

Cool Date! Okay, about this picture. We were "cleaning" up the house. And I realized that we've lived in our complex for 3 1/2 years and I've always had this pile in the corner of our bedroom. SERIOUSLY? A 30 year old's bedroom should not have this in it. Month of may's resolution-fix. this.

This was one of the most awesome days of my life-NO JOKE!
They rolled out an orange carpet, everyone was wearing tuxedos, and the gold jerseys and hats were sparkling under the lights. The SF symphony played music that was "Soaring-Over-California-esque". There were 7 or 8 SFPD motocycles, strong horses, then some classic cars with boxes and boxes of Tiffany championship rings!
As long as it took for them to travel the warning track-memories from last year came flooding back to me. When we clinched at home vs. the Padres. Playoff games at K&K's or at bars with Jen. The Series in Tahoe, and Game 5 counting strikeouts with leftover Halloween tootsie pops while the champagne waited on ice.
The ceremony was extravagant. It was magical. It was tear-jerking. To see 20-30 something year-old men get so excited and emotional can't help but get to me! To top it off we won with a walk-off double in the bottom of the ninth! The feeling in the stadium and the roar of the crowd will be in my heart and mind forever-GO GIANTS!!!

Spring is EVERYWHERE-including our table! Safeway had these beautiful daffodils that opened up immediately when I stuck them in water...livened up even more with my spring decor and Joila! Spring table!

4/3/2011Wandered around my grandma's garden for while this morning...lots blooming-mostly weeds! This flower, with its alien-like shape and tropical colors, just popped out of the weed jungle! It's fabulous!

Thursday 3/31/2011As a teacher I am often indoors alllllll day loooong. I promised myself today, as I looked out at the 85 degree perfectness that was the weather, that I would make a strong effort to get outside everyday! Spring is here and i need to soak it up! Monday 3/28/2011The moment I had been waiting for forEVER!!!! Even though it was technically an exhibition game, we went to the park and SMOKED the A's!!! hung out at Java House for a good 2 hours, then touristed our way to the park just in time for the game! I bought the tix for Steph as a going away present back in December-well worth it! What a good game-topped off with an amazing catch by Sandoval to finish it off! LOVE THEM!

Sunday 3/27/2011Over at Grandma's again on Saturday night, Amber and I decided we wanted to take another look at the teasets that were "leftover". Thank God we did-I found this little treasure of a teaset! They are proudly displayed on our sidebar-may drink tea out of them just for the heck of it!

Welp, it's real. My sister is leaving me. I am excited for her, but selfishly sorry for myself. Came home this weekend to help her pack. I ended up taping like 30 boxes closed the wrong way-upside down and annoying her with an awesome "Banana Slug" campfire song! Serves her right! Hahahaha! Just kidding-good luck, SAL!
